One speaker works, but the other seems to come and go (with static at times-may need work on connections). The set looks great and would be a great addition to your vintage electronics display. The button on the top that holds the pieces together for carrying seems to be broken, or I couldn't figure out how to make it lock. Volume control works, but static is heard when adjusting volume.
