Description: What a crazy bug! The Lanternfly, also known as the Tree Hopper, "Pyrops candelaria" has a long protruding 'snout' that is used to get underneath tree bark to feed on sap. Aside from its long 'nose', this specimen has uniquely and vibrantly colored wings. The wingspan measures approximately 3" wide. This insect ships unspread with wings folded closed. Each specimen will vary slightly in size and color. This is a dead, dried and preserved specimen. Note: This species naturally produces a white, powdery substance that can appear to be mold. Don't worry! It's natural, it's not mold :)
