Description: I am in the process of reducing my layout and Athearn and Roundhouse collection and have decided to part with these discontinued/out-of-production, HO (1/87th) scale, 40’ flatcar with removable boats loads by Athearn and Roundhouse using a variation-type listing. Although the listing reflects them as being “used/pre-owned” most are in new or like-new condition, come in their original boxes (if shown in the pictures), and were only removed from it so they could be displayed on a shelf and have the pictures taken. These cars have different railroad designations and road numbers. The Athearn cars come with boats that also have different registration numbers on their bow and “clever” names and may have their home port on the stern. Please note that the Roundhouse, except for the military boat loads, cars may only have the home port on the stern and registration number on the bow – no boat names. The anchor, cleats, front hatch and red and green sidelights/combination lights on the bow are nicely detailed (in paint, not separate detail parts); however, the skids for the boat are not removable. They come with body‑mounted McHenry knuckle couplers. Please read the descriptions below and look at the pictures carefully associated with each car/kit so you are aware of the condition of the item you are purchasing. (With a variation-type listing, I am limited to 12 pictures per car but am happy to send additional ones if desired, just contact me through eBay’s message system.) # Railroad, Road number & Boat Name Description 92181 C&NW 40’ Flatcar #48081 Boat name: “BATH TOY” Discontinued Athearn Ready To Roll flat car with boat load that comes in its original box with plastic shipping inserts. Item is described as well as possible, but is sold "as is" so please contact me if you have any questions. This is one of numerous HO freight cars I am selling. I will combine multiple items to reduce shipping whenever possible. If you purchase this item and others I am selling, please request an invoice to receive a combined shipping discount. To request an invoice, either:select “Request total” from the “More actions” drop-down menu on the Purchase history page, or, access your eBay cart and then request an invoice (should be shown above items). I will reply with an invoice reflecting the combined shipping charge. Note: some buyers have indicated eBay’s system will not allow them to request a total from me when using their smart phone. If you are unable to request a total and do not have access to a PC, you will have to purchase the items and pay each item’s separate shipping cost. However, I will refund any shipping overage. Unless other arrangements are made, payment is to be made within two days after purchase or invoice is sent. Check out my other listings for more turnouts and out-of-production or hard-to-find kits, especially Athearn "blue-box "kits. Athearn discontinued manufacturing them in 2009, so they are becoming scarce and hard to find. With Athearn’s purchase of Model Die Casting, Inc., the MDC/Roundhouse kits have also been discontinued and are no longer available.
