Description: December 1953 issue of Appalachia Journal. Published by Appalachian Mountain Club. This publication is very difficult to find. Launched in 1876 and still running, the journal comes out twice a year. Stories of outdoor adventure from around the globe. This issue features a section on Shavers Fork, West Virginia. B&W photos and maps, several that fold out. 616 pg. Very light foxing inside front and back covers. Vintage ads. Softcover book. Very solid binding and structural integrity, but glue is failing due to age (pictured). Can be easily repaired after purchase, but I never alter antique or vintage items. This vintage item is part of a collection that was professionally cleaned by a Pennsylvania restoration company specializing in old books and magazines. (See company's info in last photo.)
