From local Tennessee veterans estate, this is a HACKMAN FINLAND STAINLESS, SURVIVAL KNIFE, Vintage Vietnam war era, (1961-75) and is perfect for anyone interested in militaria. Designed by Ken Warner and Pete Dickey 1969-1970s. only a few thousand made. See pictures , it is in excellent condition, has a razor sharp edge has no major nicks, if any, the blade has a few scuffs and light scratches. Knife has a hollow handle, very strong made knife. This Hackman survival knife comes with a stainless steel blade and a leather wrapped waterproof hollow handle in excellent used condition. This knife was sold through the Randall fighting knife brochure that was circulated to military bases during the war. Similar in design to the model 18 Attack. This knife is about 12 in. long with a 6.75" in. blade made of very high quality Swedish stainless steel, still shaving sharp. The blade is a full 1/4 in. thick with a sturdy spear point. The double hilt has holes for making the knife into a spear.The hilt & pommel are chrome. The hollow handle is nearly large enough to hold 2 1/2” gauge shotgun shells. This knife is an original in lightly used condition and comes with a thick leather replacement sheath, The knife fits tight in the sheath for the last 1/16th inch, but removes easily. Hackman has been around since 1790, made swords and bayonets in many wars, had contracted the original sheaths from Brazil. They also made a Bali-song type folder during the Vietnam War.
