Description: RARE! ANTIQUE VALLERYSTHAL/PORTIEUX BLUE MILK GLASS SQUIRREL ON A COVERED CANDY/NUT DISH FRANCE - c. 1900 FREE SHIPPING & FULLY INSURED This rare and unusual covered candy/nut dish was made about 1900 in France by the Vallerysthal/Portieux glass company. The design is a squirrel on top of an acorn in a beautiful blue milk glass color. It measures about 6" long by 3" wide by 4-1/2" tall and weighs about 1 pound, 9 ounces. There is one chip off the rim of the bottom piece (see closeup photo) which cannot be seen when the top is on the dish (see next photo). There is another flea bite on the rim that the camera was unable to capture. Otherwise, this covered dish is in very good condition for its age, with no visible scratches or cracks.
