Description: German Model 1889 Officer Sword measuring 37.5" overall with a blade length of 31.5". Blade shows over 90% original bright finish with some age patina, wear, oxidation, double fullered grooved blade, has rarely seen makers mark, "J.R. BRECHT HOFLIEFERANT BERLIN" markings with logo. Blade edge has no nicks. Tight handle with fish skin/wire tight with minor wear. The crossguard has a leather finger strap which shows fair/poor condition. The scabbard shows shows original finish with scattered peppered light rust on it and a dent approx. 11" from the tip. A nice piece. See photos.
