Description: EMD or EMC as they were known pre-1941, opened their LaGrange locomotive facility right around 1936. At the time, EMC was building more switcher locomotives than streamliners.The switchers were much more efficient to run than steam locomotives and very quickly became a huge market for EMC. The brochure is one of the earliest LaGrange based brochures created. It would have been freely distributed to potential customers but most likely tossed after a few years. This one was preserved by a long-time EMD employee who kept it locked up in a file cabinet. It may be the only one left in existence, especially in this condition.
