Description: I recently purchased a collection of fairly rare Civil War related books belonging to a man (now deceased) who metal detected in the Virginia and Maryland area in the 1980's, and also in NM, AZ and Texas after moving here to New Mexico in the 1990's. Watch my present and future auctions for more rare books from this collection, as well as Civil War relics. Please be aware that we are not professional book sellers, but we will describe condition as best as we are capable of. If condition is of the utmost importance to you, please ask questions and request more detailed photos before bidding. Great book for researchers and historians! History of the Army of the Potomac by J.H. Stine-Historian of the 1st Army Corps. Hard bound, 1893 2nd edition, published by Gibson Bros, Washington DC. Measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/2"; 752 pages with many portraits. The spine, front and back covers are in good condition for their age, just the normal wear, fraying and bumped corners. The hinges inside the front and back covers have started to crack as is usually the case, but not badly. There are no loose pages. The contents are very nice with no markings that I see ( I didn't check every single page). Overall a very decent copy of a hard-to-find book. Always glad to combine shipping if you win more than one auction. Thanks for bidding!
