Description: Rare Antique Pearce's Improved Cahoon Broadcast Seed Sower Antique Farm Equipment | Chest worn Seed Spreader Made in Antrim. NH USA. Step back in time with this beautiful piece of history that would be great in your garden on a shelf as decor or inside as a statement piece of your farmhouse decor! I think it could be pretty with a potted plant inside looking like the seeds have sprouted. Not including the crank handle the main body measures 11" tall, 11.5" deep, and 11.5" wide. It was designed to be worn with the large metal plate going against your stomach/chest and is strapped in place by cloth cords that are no longer there. A farmer would walk his field, turn the crank and broadcast seeds. There is a hole size adjustment for different seeds/quantities which does not work. Hand crank rotates and operates. Please see photos for exactly what you will receive and if you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to ask Thank you!
