Description: This is a rare Etruscan Majolica plate with the pattern Cauliflower. This piece dates from the 1880s and was made by Griffin Smith & Hill in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. It has classic green leaf segments which surround what looks like a starfish with a grain type texture. The “star” is outlined with a light rose colored glaze. On the back, the plate is stamped with the words Etruscan Majolica and fancy script mark. This is a wonderful preserved plate with no chips or cracks. There is some crazing on the front which can be seen in the pictures. Overall, it’s a prime piece for the serious Majolica collector.
