Description: Monarch Lion Head Stationary Bench Vise No. 215 4" Jaws - Made in USA Pre-1930 era Monarch Lion Head vise by Prentiss Vise Co. New York. Model No. 215, 4" jaw stationary base vise. Vise weighs in at ~28lbs, 15" length in closed position and 6 1/2" height at jaws . The jaws are 4" wide and open 4 3/4" with front jaw beam flush with rear of back jaw/base. Early style marking with P V Co. and lion head logo. Jaw faces appear to be original with knurled faces in reasonable condition on serrations and screw heads visible. Original mounting bolts included. Vise has been inspected closely and is in overall good condition. The vise has been cleaned enough to assess condition - identify marks, front jaw beam, etc. Front of dynamic jaw has some irregular surface, tough to tell 100% but appears to be weld material. Jaws square up in closed position about as well as any vintage vise of this type and the bottom of dynamic jaw, collar and screw show no damage or repair. Original 10" handle has a few dings but relatively straight. No functional problems and no lube has been applied to sliding parts. Please see all pictures for full condition details.
