The get along with everyone, clean up algae & debris diligently, and are quite prolific. Occasionally throws brown Ramshorn Snails. Predominantly pink in color, ramshorn snail shells are transparent but may brown with age. They grow from smaller than a sesame seed to approximately 1" long. With proper care, they can live to be about 1 - 2 years old. WARNING: RAMSHORN SNAILS ARE FOREVER Like duckweed, once you put Ramshorn snails in an aquarium, it is very hard to get rid of them (although certain predators can be enlisted to help). Keep this in mind as you consider purchasing them. Bladder snails are proliferate breeders. Similar to daphnia, your initial cluster of snails will multiply rapidly in a slightly dirty, established tank. Limit their numbers by keeping a clean tank with little food waste or organic matter.
