Description: On offer, we have "Orvieto - Aquapendente" 2 views of the Italian city first published in 1663 by mapmaker Johannes Blaeu. This color print is "Exactly drawn on location. Updated by the care of Pierre Mortier. Bookseller in Amsterdam. " as printed in French in the enter. Mortier (1661-1711) published his color edition in 1704-5. The map measures 17 1/2" X 20". In its very old frame, it is 24 1/2" X 26 1/2" and weighs 5 pounds 7 ounces. I am not an expert on art but believe this is in very good condition. The print is bold and clear. The map has a fold line in the center. I see 5 dark spots, there could be more. The matte has some spotting and I believe the frame is a bit fragile. This map has not been examined out of the frame. Please view my photographs for more description. This is from my friend who is moving to a much smaller home and parting with some of his treasures.
