Description: PETER JAY. AN ORIGINAL ACRYLIC PAINTING ON BOARD. PAINTED CIRCA 1990s. SIGNED BY THE ARTIST. TITLED: 'VIEW BELOW WINCHELSEA'. Peter Jay was born in 1936 and studied painting at Beckenham and then St Martin's School of Art. After a short spell in advertising and a rather longer period in the ‘rag-trade’, he moved to the country to paint full time in 1974. He now lives in a converted oast house on the south coast of England. By making detailed colour notes and sketches of the surrounding countryside he captures all seasons, and the glorious countryside of the South Downs. THE PAINTING MEASURES APPROX. 150mm X 150mm AND THE FRAME MEASURES 220mm X 220mm. THE PAINTING HAS A FEW PALE SPOTS IN THE SKY THAT NEED ATTENTION. THE FRAME HAS A FEW SCUFFS (SEE PHOTOS).
