Description: This is a gem! A beautiful antique amber GLOBE half-gallon fruit jar with a cam lever lock glass lid. "Although the number of different jars produced with cam lever and lid type closures was relatively small, the Globe jars were fairly popular from around 1886 until about 1905-1910 for mouth-blown examples and from the latter date until the early/mid-1910s for machine-made versions." (Source: The Society of Historical Archaeology) The half-gallon jars are rare because of their size; not many make it through the years. This lovely is in excellent condition. There are no chips, dings, cracks, or chiggers. Absolutely in perfect condition! The glass exhibits the waviness and little bubbles characteristic of this era's glass jars. The cam lever lock fully functions. The glass lid is embossed with "Patented May 25, 1886." Features the swirl logo on the bottom.
