Not only can this unit record live TV programs onto DVD, but it can also transfer your old home movies onto DVD. You will still need an old camcorder (8mm, Hi8, MiniDV, etc) that can load and run the tape as well as an either an RCA, S-Video, or DV connection cable (depends on what connection ports your camera has.. most camcorders will typically use a 3.5mm to RCA adapter as most camcorders have the 3.5mm video cable connection port). Can also burn home movies on regular sized VHS tapes.. you’ll just need a VCR to play them back on and then you connect the VCR to the front AV ports the same way as you would the camcorder. You would just need an extra pair of the standard RCA cables for that connection. Once it’s all set up/connected and the camcorder is playing the tape, you can just hit the record button and it will begin copying the tape to a blank DVD as the camcorder plays it.
