Description: PAL BRAND of Germany: Very Vintage Camping Knife, Horn Handles: I believe this knife was made in mid-1930s Germany, before rearmament came down to knife-manufacturing level. Also, brass was used for frame, before it was needed for mass production of ammunition. Horn is probably from South African buffalo, before supply was cut by Great Britain. Last clue is the tang-stamp: It says "Germany", not "West" Germany, so I date it before early1950s and after surrender. No consumer pocketknives were made during WWII. This knife was not the style made postwar, so I assume this knife originated approx 1934. Current condition: Knife shows small blade loss from sharpening, about 85-90% is left. No pitting (good German steel and no celluloid handles), discoloration, gouges or rust on any blades. Cavity is clean, springs intact giving good walk and talk (excellent for a 90-year old knife). Frame is solid and square; birds-eye rivets and all pins are set and stable, allowing no "wobble" of blades. Horn handles have good color, both bright and deep with no chips, cracks or scuffs. This is an excellent knife from an obviously competent cutlery, and it has stood the test of time. Mailing only to USA-48. Postage is usually between $5.00 and $6.26. Buyer pays $4.00, I will pay the rest. Please see my other knives and save postage. I am liquidating my entire collection; please keep me in your favorite sellers, watching for Old Bryan's Old Knives or the seller name below.
