Pair 1950s Ercole Barovier e Toso Zebrati Oversize Perfume Bottles Murano Glass

Description: Offering this rare pair of Ercole Barovier (for Barovier & Toso) Zebrati glass perfume or scent bottles. Original stoppers with gold ball and long, dramatic daubers. Produced in Murano (Venice) Italy; circa 1950. Bavovier's Zebrati (stripes) technique uses thin, horizontal plumb color cords alternating with Cordonato D' Oro (gold) cords spiraling within the glass from top to bottom. This internal color pattern, known as Zebrati - was invented by Ercole Barovier in the middle of the last century - creates a dramatic zebra stripe effect. Glass bottle itself having vertical ribs throughout. This rare pair were part of a high-end Chicago collector estate. Most pieces were cabinet or shelf displayed and never used. Extra-large size measuring approximately 10.5”H (to top of ball finial) or 8.5”H (to rim of bottle). x 5.25” widest; each weighing approximately 4lbs each. Could be used as bud vases without stoppers. Daubers alone measure 9.75”L including ball finial. Pristine vintage condition. No chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. Does not appear to have ever held fragrance or been used. Daubers are original length and perfect condition without chips, cracks or repairs; not shortened or filed down. Underside of base has ground and polished pontil; some fine scratches. A couple rub marks to glass on widest rib - could easily be polished by professional if bothersome.
