Robert Morden (1650-1703) was an English bookseller, publisher, and mapmaker, globemaker and engraver. He was a successful commercial map maker. Published in Camden's Britannia by Abel Swale, Awnsham and John Churchill, London 1722. A fine copper engraved map on a good weight hand laid paper. Dimensions: 42cm x 39cm Plate size approx. 42cm x 36cm Dimension to printed edge 41.5cm x 35.6cm (sufficient margin for a mount)Dispatched rolled in a map tube. Condition: Map has previously been framed. Previous mounting tape remains to the rear (see pictures). Retains bright colour and is a fine clean example. Note: this maps was printed on paper with a horizontal central fold. A fine antique map retaining its original vibrancy.
