The lock carries the Yale model number 7790. NOTE: The 7790 was made with both a 2 1/2" Backset and with a 2 3/4" Backset, this is the 2 1/2" BS version with the 8 inch face. FACEPLATE: Mortise lock has a double brass plated face with a length of 8" and a width of 1" and thickness of 1/8". Solid brass and the Yale logo is engraved in the face. MORTISE BOX: The mortise box itself is 3 9/16" deep from the front edge of the faceplate and it is 5 3/4" high, 3/4" thick, clearly marked with the Yale logo in the casting. While not marked on the outside, the model number of the lock is found in the casting inside the box: 7790. The lock is reversible.BACKSET: The backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".DROP: The drop (the distance from the the center of the key cylinder down to the center of the knob post hole) is 3 1/2"". KNOB POST: The lock accommodates a half knob post of 5/16" for the inside knob and it is with the set. KEY: The lock comes with the two keys and a new YALE brass lock cylinder.
