Description: Antheraea Polyphemus Moths are some of North America's most beautiful Saturniid moths. These Polyphemus Moths Caterpillars were reared in southeast Alabama on oak leaves in sleeves. The eggs were from reared female moths and wild fly-in male moths. These cocoons are NOT expected to overwinter. We still have one more brood expected in Alabama. *Remember these adult moths have not digestive system or mouth parts and will live only about 10 days. Great educational opportunity for schools, teachers, and students alike. Also, great for moth hobbyists.See pictures of caterpillars as they were collected to be moved from sleeve to sleeve, an adult polyphemus moth with ruler to show size of our stock, cocoons that were freshly harvested 8/27/24, and more.
