Description: Please check my other listings, 100+ guitar back side sets These pieces were cut from an extremely old bar top that was part of my mentor's collection. I cannot say for certain when he acquired this used piece of lumber, I only can say it was pre 1985 when I first started working in his shop and it was hanging on a barn wall as a used/salvage piece then. The video is a short clip of this piece of wood that the set was cut from. The Backs are irregularly shaped, about 8.6 wide at lower bout, 20.5 long , sanded to about 0.150-0.180 thick. . Sides are 32 long, 5 to 4.5 wide, sanded to about 0.190. a few saw marks still present. Sides are really longer/wider and I have just left them full size and marked in chalk on the left plate. There are holes from nails and screws that were in the top. I was able trim the backs to make plates with no defects in the face of the back, the sides have a few old holes that need repairing and I have tried to picture. I left the oversize bits so you could easily see that the piece is genuinely an old bar top. I cannot say for certain the age of this wood, but believe it excellent for trying to capture the look of a prewar type martin. The back look very well quartered, the sides are off quarter, about where I prefer to use as dead quartered sides sometimes are more apt to split Wonderful texture color to this old mahogany and beautiful color.
