Description: Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This is a very nice Asahi Pentax Super- Takumar 50mm f1.4 lens (# 1833527) with Pentax lens caps. This is the second model of this lens with 7 elements but no white dot f2 marking. Some sellers claim the first version with 8 elements is the best version optically, but my reference book (by van Oosten) says this 7 element version had improved image quality. The lens is in excellent condition with some signs of use on sharp edges. The filter rim has no problems. The six aperture blades are snappy with no trace of oil. The glass has no fungus, haze, or cleaning marks visible when examined under strong back lighting, but there is a slight amount of dust. One lens coating does have a slight yellow tint. I tried it on my D700 (with an adapter) and found that the auto white balance software eliminates any potential effect. The auto/manual switch works fine and is marked 37800 (which is the factory number for the Model 1) on the back side. The focus and aperture rings feel like-new smooth.
