Description: For sale is a rare Antique Primitive 19th century DATED Wooden painted shoulder yoke / bucket carrying yoke. These were a common household / farm tool in the 1800's and before. They were made for comfortably carrying two buckets or other weight on both end. This particular one is special because it is signed and dated. It was common for old farmers to whittle and carve names and dates with a knife. Because of the initials, one must wonder if this were a father and son's names. Dated 1858, just before the civil war. About 42" long and 6 inches at it's widest. Age appropriate surface wears and manufacturer imperfections are to be expected. Please check photos taken from all angles for detailed condition. Overall, this is an rare early American primitive farming tool item. It would be a great display item at your antique primitive/ country themed home. Feel free to check out my other antique and collectible listings, I gladly combine shipping whenever practical.
