Description: 1935 Waitangi Crown PCGS PR63 Whilst New Zealand doesn’t have the same diversity of numismatic rarities as other Commonwealth nations like Australia, Canada, or the United Kingdom, Kiwi collectors can be proud to have in their numismatic cabinet one of the world’s most beautiful, desirable, and numismatically important crowns. Issued in 1935 to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, the Waitangi crown is widely collected, and extremely popular with New Zealand collectors, collectors of world crowns, and coin investors. The present coin is bright and untoned, with a slight haze around the edges on both ‘verses. The fields are clear, but the strike is somewhat weak on the reverse about the crown and around “Waitangi”. Nonetheless, the overall appearance of the coin is pleasant, and being a crown, the coin earns its presence. If you are a collector of world crowns or key British Commonwealth coins, but don’t necessarily have the budget for an above-average example of this fabulous issue, the present coin, graded PCGS PR63, is an ideal acquisition. Drake Sterling Numismatics was established 2007, and specialises in quality PCGS-graded Australian gold coins, silver coins, and copper coins, including Colonial coins, Sovereigns and Half Sovereigns, Commonwealth coins, and pre-decimal proof coins. All coins sold by Drake Sterling Numismatics Pty Ltd come with a lifetime guarantee of authenticity, unless otherwise described. We can combine multiple invoices to save you on postage costs.
