The calendar was a gift to annual shareholders and showed the many uses of GE products in the name of "Progress."Promoting the GE/Disney attraction at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair, Progressland, this is a stunning nighttime look at the New York World's Fair with the fireworks in full swing. This scarcely seen image was created for General Electric and captures the dawn of one of Walt Disney's most cherished attractions. It has been written that the World's Fair was not only Disney's chance to try out new ride systems and technologies, but it was also a test run for an East Coast theme park. The success of the Disney attractions at the fair led directly to the creation of WDW in Florida, as well as bringing several exciting new attractions in Disneyland - It's a Small World, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Primeval World...and the Progressland (renamed the Carousel of Progress). After the fair, the hit attraction moved to Disneyland before moving again to WDW where it still operates today. (This is a single calendar page - image has the previous month on the verso.
