It requires calibration with the body control module which can be done with scan tool ob2d system; but depending on the issues your vehicles has, Tech 2 Diagnostics or Tech2 Win (GM programming software) may be needed to recalibrate the entire vehicle. Please note - your old module must have one of the following numbers: 13594571 13591222 13598198 Fits the following models (if number above is listed): 2015-2016 Canyon or Colorado 2016 Cruze New Body (4th digit of VIN# "B") 2015-2021 Encore or Trax 2016-2019 Spark This is not at all a self-install item, nor can just any shop program it - it requires a GM AC Delco system to program it. Below is a link for the software systems but most high end shops have this software called Tech 2 Diagnostics, or Tech2Win (GM Light Duty Diagnostics 2-GDS for light trucks). A shop has to subscribe to this, but no other system can program this part; it is not programmable with a scan tool (scan tools report error codes and reset them but are not a programmer to sync a new module to a vehicle.
