The Stag is a great, and look at it closely you'll see it has a black tone to it not brown like you would normally see, Mule Deer and Blacktail Deer have a very dark color to their rack I can't say for sure but my guess would say this handle is one of those two. Muela picks only the very best stag for its handles unless you have one in your hands then you will understand why I say this, it's also rounded slightly which makes it very comfortable to work with The Blade is very, very sharp 440A Stainless is way up there on the Blade Index rated 3rd best alloy for cutlery for holding its edge, easy to resharpen, hardness 57 to 59. With the Clip Point Blade, there's not much it won't do if your an outdoor person hunting, fishing, hiking etc; this knife will do them all and WEIGHS 4.8oz 63.9oz with sheath. It also has Nickel Silver Pins and a lanyard hole and comes in one of the better leather sheath's you can buy.
