Description: This is " Mrs. Beeton's Every Day Cookery and Housekeeping Book ", in an undated (but believed to be 1891) revised edition published by Ward, Lock & Co. This edition features "a practical and useful guide for all mistresses and servants", in an "entirely new edition, revised and greatly enlarged", with 8 full-page chromo-lithograph plates and 27 full-page black-and-white plates. 568 pages, with additional pages of advertisements. The hardcover book is Good condition. The boards and spine are quite worn, with some loss of material along the edges and corners. The binding is weakening, but still holding. Two of the eight color plates have become separated, but are still present, and one of these (a fold-out of a table setting for 12) suffered tears which have been mended on the reverse with Japanese mending tissue. The two separated color plates have been set back into the book in the appropriate positions. Please see accompanying photographs, which are of the actual item you will receive.
