This can be done using a clothes iron, hot plate or heat gun. When heating mica be sure to place it between sheets of parchment paper so it does not stick to the surface that you are heating it on. Once mica sheet is softened, gently mold the mica over a cast or form. It can be easily trimmed when soft. Once cooled, the mica sheet recovers its firmness while maintaining the desired shape.*This type of mica however is not able to be exposed to open flame as it will melt due to the resin. Therefore it is not to be used as windows for wood or coal stoves.
