The PiG was completed in 2012 after a researcher of "Mick Ronson" living in Australia asked for a pedal that could reproduce the "MAJOR" amp used by Ronson. The MAJOR pedal is named after the very early "MAJOR" or "THE PIG," which was only produced for a short time in 1967. While being a Marshall plexi, the MAJOR's unique amp circuitry was faithfully designed and developed. The actual amp has three knobs for control: Volume (Master), Volume (Bass), and Volume (Treble), and features an active 2-EQ specification. The controls on this model are Vol, Power Gain, Bass, and Treb, and in accordance with the above specifications, no sound is produced when Power Gain is set to minimum or Bass and Treb EQ are set to minimum. Another key point in operating this unit is that the active 2-EQ allows the gain to be amplified when the EQ knob is turned up, making it a dual-use gain knob! The EQ knob covers a wide range, from low to low mid for the Bass and high to high mid for the Treb, and when certain mid frequencies are covered in the settings, there is a part of the sound that disappears, creating the unique magic sound of the "MAJOR".
