Description: I bought this from a dealer in the 1990s. It came out of William Taylor's estate in Texas. Judge Taylor knew President Johnson personally. The frame is in rough shape, but it is the original frame. It is solid, it is just scratched & scuffed in places. It is about 18" x 18 1/2". I will ship it with the frame, that's why the shipping is a bit higher. William McLaughlin Taylor, Jr. (1909-1985) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He was a reserve captain in the USMC during WWII.Taylor was nominated to the Northern District of Texas by President Lyndon Johnson on June 28, 1966, to a seat vacated by Thomas Whitfield Davidson; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 22, 1966, and received commission on July 22, 1966. From 1973-1977, he served as the chief judge. His father, William McLaughlin Taylor Sr. (April 2, 1876 – May 1, 1959) was a justice of the Supreme Court of Texas from September 21, 1945 to December 31, 1950.The autograph has not been authenticated, but I have no doubt it is authentic, esp coming from Judge Taylor's estate. I am solid on the price. This piece is unique & worth it. I'm selling, "as is" feel free to ask any questions. Thank you.
