Description: LOTUS GLASS Co. – BUTTERCUP Etched CORDIAL Stem Color: Clear Item: 300133 LOTUS GLASS CO. opened its doors in Barnesville, Ohio in 1912. Initially, the glass decorators focused on cut patterns, but soon expanded its decorating techniques to etchings and overlays. Their patterns are found on a multitude of glasswares manufactured by the Depression era greats, such as Duncan Miller, Heisey and Cambridge. The company survived through much of the consolidation of the industry, but finally shuttered operations on December 31, 1995. The bowl is bell shaped and the stem is a simple taper. The “Buttercup” etch repeats three times around the exterior of the bowl. While some of the line has gold accents, this piece is simply the etched glass. No evidence of use. No defects (cracks/chips) were noted. Please view all the photos to best ascertain the condition of this piece.
