Description: Offered is this lot of eight antique soft cover booklets in the "Little Blue Book" series, published in Girard, Kansas by the Haldeman-Julius Co. Included are: 1) #79 "Enoch Arden", by Lord Tennyson; 2) #179 "Gems from Emerson"; 3) #544 "Essays on the Poet and Nature", by Emerson; 4) #799 "The Deserted Village", by Oliver Goldsmith; 5) #959 "Masterpieces of American Humor"; 6) #1017 "Without Benefit of Clergy", by Kipling; 7) #1364 "How to Use the Dictionary", by Lloyd Smith and 8) #1439 "Your Intelligence and How to Test It", by Leo Markun. Two of the booklets have copyright dates, one of 1925 and the other of 1929, with the rest appearing to be contemporary to these. Each booklet is approx. 5" x 3 3/8". The number of pages varies from 21 to 64. All are at least in good condition, with intact but browned and faded covers and no missing or torn pages, although the pages have browned, with the following exceptions: 1) #544 has a small piece of the corner of the cover missing from both front and back; and 2) #1439 is missing the cover. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions. I will do my best to answer them! Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
