Side rods show spots of corrosion and discoloration. Additionally, the previous owner has repainted this locomotive, as it has some spots of visible brush strokes and drip marks. Glob of paint on the cab roof is visible. Although repainted body still shows spots of paint wear and chips. Spots of glue residue are present on the markers from previous repair. The wheels show signs of wear. The original box is included and shows rips, tears, wear, tape from previous repair. Written notations on end flap. Liner is included. This is a Korean War hybrid using a Berkshire boiler casting on a Hudson wheel arrangement. Features include a 3-position E-unit, an operating smoke unit and an operating headlight. Additional features are die-cast truck sides, metal gears, wheels and axles. Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
