Description: LILO & STITCH 2002 Color Test Print in Production Disney Animation Crew Gift Treasures from a Retired Disney Animation Crew Member ... presented exclusively by Saturday's Toys Item: An instantly recognizable favorite image from the end credits of Disney's Lilo & Stitch Date: 2002 Artist: Paul Felix (Production Design); Robert E. Stanton (Background Supervisor) Description: This particular print was creating during test efforts that would evaluate color adjustment options during production for Lilo & Stitch. The background art for these scenes was primarily developed at the new Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida studio. The idea for the photo montage at the end of the film was a late request from the film's directors. Fortunately, even though the film was largely completed, the production team enthusiastically agreed to add these creative end credits with the classic Elvis Presley song, "Burning Love" (performed by Wynonna) as the production credits rolled. The watercolor backgrounds then provided the perfect reminder of the detail and attention provided for animated films during the 1930's and 1940's. This high-quality effort can be seen throughout the film... and many of those images were then specifically preserved within the Walt Disney Animation Research Library in Glendale, California. This print was actually used on-screen at the end of the film (Seq. 26, Scene 64). The paper used for this print provides a textured sense that blends nicely with the art as presented. Includes a 1" border around the print, allowing for the full image to be seen when framed for display. The image remains one of the favorite watercolor paintings developed for use in the film.
