Description: Measuring about 5-1/2" x 8", and 399 pages long, this hardback book is "Land of Promise" by Leo Lania, translated by R. Henry. Published in New York by the Macmillan Co., it has matching copyright and publication dates of 1935, with the single-line credit "Published January, 1935", and it is therefore presumed to be the First Edition, or at least the first American edition. It is in generally very good and readable condition, but with some light scuffs and stains and edge wear on the cover, including some apparent rodent damage on the side edge of the front board. It also has ownership stampings on both end papers, and there are few ragged page edges toward the end of the book, where the pages apparently came uncut from the printer and have been separated rather roughly.
