Description: A historical Portrait of a Fine Lady named Elizabeth Antionette Hebberd Furman painted in NYC in 1895. This is in the style of George Cook, but has no signature of artist. Elizabeth was born in 1828 at 3rd Ave 13th St, New York and died in 1916 at 363 West 51st, New York Elizabeth was married to Samuel H. Furman in 1853. Samuel Hand Furman was a silversmith. Samuel's father Philip Heartt Furman was also a silversmith, jeweler and watchmaker in New York City with a shop at 173 Broadway until 1860 and afterwards at 118 Hudson Street. The canvas has the stamp from the art supply company F.W. Devoe & co, New York Frame has metal supports on back with patent date of 1883 This painting is in lovely condition and a fine addition to any home. The frame has two balls missing as seen in pictures otherwise in fine condition. This portrait has been passed on from generation to generation and has been well cared for.
