Kraft 5CH 2.4GHz Vintage RC Transmitter

Description: Up for auction is a Vintage Kraft Sport Series 5CH Transmitter that has been upgraded to 2.4GHz. Please note that this Tx requires a 7CH receiver to utilize the 5th channel. This is because the channels on the encoder are sequential and retract channel is on CH7. CH5 and CH6 are simply unused on the receiver. The electronics I used include the DM Strong Series Pro Mini ATmega328 for the encoder and the Lemon DSMP DIY Module for the RF module. The Lemon module is intended for conversion of a legacy AM or FM RC transmitter to 2.4GHz DSM2/DSMX™ compatible protocol. Battery and charging circuitry is not included; this is left to the discretion of the new owner. I recommend a 2S LIPO 7.4 volts with a JST plug and around 1000mah capacity. I would not recommend going above a 2S LIPO at 7.4 volts. The circuit is supposed to tolerate up to 3S but I have not tried this yet, so I don’t recommend it. Credit for the programming code and building instructions should be given to Phil Green in the UK and many others in Europe. They are the true brains behind this kind of Retro Conversion. I programed the encoder with the sketches that they created and then assembled the new electronics into a vintage transmitter. It should be noted that the encoder is capable of more than I have included in this build. My goal was to keep the Original Tx as pristine as possible by not adding additional knobs and switches. The additional features can be added later by the owner by adding the required switches, pots, etc., and changing appropriate jumpers on the encoder should they desire. I include hard copies of documentation which includes the capabilities of the encoder, general operation of the transmitter and the manual for the Lemon RF module. All of this information can be found online, but I included hard copies of the basics to get the new owner started.
