The B-17F, "Ye Olde Pub", badly damaged by flak and fighters over Bremen on December 20, 1943, was intercepted by Franz Stigler flying a Bf-109G. Stigler did not shoot the plane down as ordered, but instead, escorted the aircraft to the North Sea and then saluted the plane and flew home. Stigler was quoted as saying that "I could not shoot down these half dead people". The B-17F landed safely at it's base. This set includes markings for the B-17F "Ye Old Pub" flown by pilot Charlie Brown, and for Franz Stigler's Messerschmitt Bf-109G. The set is NEW and MINT IN THE PACKAGE! The set includes a sheet of decals as shown in the photos, plus a full-color placement guide. The decals are brand new and in excellent condition.
