Description: I am selling my beloved Kanstul 1525 Flugelhorn, double case, and accessories, as an injury has left me unable to play. This particular horn was hand-selected by my late trumpet teacher, the great John Pellegrino, principal trumpet player of the Rhode Island Philharmonic for almost two decades. This listing includes all of the following, as depicted in the photos:Kanstul ZKF-1525 Flugelhorn Bach 3C FL mouthpieceTorpedobags Coyote Double Case (Flugel + trumpet or any other similar sized arrangement)Torpedobags leather accessories bag (fastens to outside of case)Torpedobags leather sheet music bag (fastens to outside of case)Torpedobags leather double-mouthpiece case K&M Flugelhorn Stand (can be stored in bell) The Flugelhorn: If you know flugels, you know Kanstul 1525 is the most pitch-correct of the notoriously out-of-tune conical horns, and the only model worth spending your good money on. John Pellegrino play-tested dozens of flugels before selecting this one, so this is one of the most in-tune, mellowest velvety-toned flugels you might ever come across. It is an dream to play. I hate to part with it but it is time it found a new home with a caring owner who will play it and give the horn the love it deserves! Mechanical Condition: it is in perfect mechanical operation from the slides to the tuning leadpipe to the valves. The valves may need a little oil when you first come to play it. Cosmetic Condition (does not affect playing): Overall, in very good condition. The most important cosmetic to point out is on one area of the bell, which shows signs of a past repair. The metal repair itself is perfect and smooth; it is only the lacquer finish in a certain area that is not quite mirror-like in appearance compared to the rest of the horn, but it does not stand out so much in person. Other cosmetic flaws include some small chips or nicks that have removed a small amount of lacquer, which I have detailed in the second batch of pictures. ** Regarding the pictures of cosmetics, I took the least-flattering, clear photos of the cosmetic flaws, so that you know exactly what this horns looks like and have no question or anxiety of the unknown; I took as many zoomed-in pics of the cosmetic flaws as much as the rest of the horn purposefully so that you will know what you are paying for and that there will be no surprises for you, unlike other listings where you just don't know. ** The Mouthpiece: It is a Bach 3C FL mouthpiece, silver plated with signs of wear throughout but mostly intact. No dents or dings. Sanitized with isopropyl alcohol, it is ready to play right away. The mouthpiece will be inside the leather double-mouthpiece case that is included. The Case and Accessories: The Torpedobags Coyote Double Case (originally $700+) is in like-new condition, and was hardly ever used Nylon textile exterior is perfect, as well as the interior pads. For shipping the flugelhorn, I removed the pads to bubble wrap the horn for even more protection during shipping, but they have velcro backing and are labeled with a guide for how to re-insert the pads into the Flugel-Trumpet double arrangement. Because all the pad positions are customizable, you can arrange the pads in any other manner to make it a single flugel case or even a triple trumpet case if needed. Included are three leather accessories for the case: a mute/accessories bag, a folder/sheet music bag, and a double mouthpiece case. The mute bag and music bag both fasten to the exterior of the case via velcro straps and a zipper. There is some slight distressing of the leather on the underside of music bag (pictured) and on the top of the mute bag (pictured), but normal for its use. The leather on the mouthpiece case is perfect, as its usually nestled inside the supportive case. Finally, a K&M Flugelhorn stand is included. Condition is very good. Legs can be unscrewed and stowed within the stand, which in turn can be stored inside the flugelhorn's bell (packed separately for shipping safety. Shipping: Everything will all come in one box; because the case is included, the shipping will be more expensive than simply bubble wrapping the horn in cardboard box, but will also be fully insured should anything happen in transit. I bubble wrapped the flugelhorn inside the case after removing the interior pads, which I have bagged separately (and included a picture of how to re-assemble the pads into the flugel/trumpet orientation). The double case with the flugelhorn and accessories will be shipped in a double-walled cardboard box with supportive filling and taped well. --------- *** ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No returns unless items arrive not-as-described, which they won't because of my detailed pictures and secure packing. This is NOT a try-before-you-buy. ***
