When strapped we use a proper length of bridle or latigo leather attached using solid copper belt rivets that are hand peened over an anvil. All edges have been heat treated to give a smooth and safe rounding. Our shields are fantastic for rapier combat but entirely tough enough for rattan fighting. Good looking effective LARP shields as well. We have also been told that they are useful for AirSoft. Finish: Our standard shields are unpainted black. It is textured in a way that resembles leather.
