The rams horn finial is a classic theme in fireplace items and collectors often seek matching rams horn sets of peels, shovels, pokers etc. This particular wrought iron piece of art is a hooked poker, which is a form I've not often seen. The hook end has additional robust shaping to it as you can see in the photo. The item is in excellent antique condition. There is very little rust on this piece. Age appropriate surface wears and imperfections are present. The handle is straight.
