Description: Sage 4280 fly reel in the stealth colorway (black). The 4200 series is the precursor to the Spectrum Max series. Fully machined reel with sealed drag that’s suited for both fresh and saltwater (though this one has only seen freshwater). The 4280 is listed as a 7-9 weight reel and has a beautiful incoming and outgoing click very much like the Spectrum series. The reel comes with original neoprene pouch and ~150 yards of backing. I believe the reel is rated at 200 yards of 20# Dacron with a WF 8 weight. This reel is in PRISTINE condition with none of the normal scuffing / boat rash of a used reel. This particular reel was used on a couple river steelhead trips but spent 99% of its life stored in a closet which is why it’s so clean still. I recently shifted my two hand reels to all enclosed frame so I have no need for this reel anymore. Will be sad to see it go as these 4200 series are known for being bomb-proof.
