Description: Excellent condition historic antique w/ only surface-level marks on it and suspension liner intact. Other listings are significantly more expensive >$300 or have significant wear, rust, etc. History: This full-brim hard hat was used by workers for the City and County of San Francisco in building the Hetch-Hetchy Reservoir and was recovered by my dad from one of their old offices in the 80s. Made in San Francisco by ED Bullard, the company that patented the “hard-boiled” style hard hat, this antique is a testament to the quality and craftsmanship of American-made products. Hard boiled hard hats were relied upon through the 1900s until the electrical risk of the helmet’s conductivity became more common at construction and mining sites. This hard hat has been well-preserved and is in excellent condition. The intact leather liner and suspension gear adds an extra level of authenticity and makes this helmet a must-have for any collector of historical pieces.
