Description: DESCRIPTIONHERMAN MILLER GEORGE NELSON CSS 48 INCH SHELF COMPONENT w/TRACKS + LIGHT FIXTURE VTG LATE 60s - EARLY 70s ORIGINAL FINISH A mid-century modern classic, a walnut veneer component for CSS office designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller. One (1) 48" shelf with light fixture and aluminum recessed tracks for the bookends. The finish of the aluminum light fixture housing is excellent, however the electrical definitely needs work. It is missing the original power cord, and a connection for fluorescent tube exists, but the overall electrical "workings" requires replacement. This piece is original from a production late 1960s or early 1970s. The lighting creates a nice accent in a residential space, or task lighting for office use. The teak wood is beautifully figured, it has a little age related shift in color. Overall excellent vintage condition, however, please read the condition for details. CONDITIONPre-owned, original finish. Wood is in excellent vintage condition, with a few signs of age related wear and imperfections. Very light scratches, minor nicks, scuffs, or surface wear in multiple spots, but no gouges, still presentable original finish with some TLC or ready for refinishing. The surface of the anodized aluminum light fixture is in exceptional condition with respect to age, however, there is very minimal tape residue which requires cleaning. The finish of the metal supports has some age-appropriate marks, but very nice condition. Note there is damage at one end of the shelf. Please review the photos for documentation of the condition.
