Description: NOS Harris Stay Silver 15% Silver Phos Copper Brazing Alloy Rods .050" W x 1/8" H (flat) x 20" L (Approx.) Brazing Rods. This is being offered by the piece for small jobs, DIY repairs or for copper hobbies, crafts, for small jobs in copper to copper or to brass connections in HVAC-R or plumbing applications.This brazing rod is used to primarily join copper to copper, copper to brass and brass to brass. The Phosphorus content serves as a "self-fluxing" agent in jointing copper to copper. When brazing copper to brass or brass to brass, it is recommended to use a flux. Harris recommends their Stay-Silv White Brazing flux. This brazing rod is not recommended for brazing steel, nickel alloys, or other ferrous metals due to sufficient lack of joint ductility.Highest joint ductility and strength in HVAC-R applications. This filler metal is excellent for situations in which close fit-up does not exist, it is excellent for where there is thermal expansion, agitation, and vibration in service are involved.This has a wide melting range, which allows to fill loose connections and "cap", or build up around finished joints. When heated above it's liquidus it will penetrate tight connections.Material approx. makeup is 15% silver, 5% Phosphorus, 80% Copper. Solidus Temperature 1190 degrees F. Liquidus Temperature 1475 degrees F. Recommended brazing range is 1300 -1500 degrees F.
