GOYA GE-275 Howard Roberts Custom 1975

Description: This is a 1975 GOYA GE-275 Howard Roberts Custom hollow-body electric guitar, it’s a beautiful hand-crafted instrument. Wine red, archtop hollow body. This looks stunning in person. It comes inside a very nice original hard case. This guitar is in mint condition. It is extremely well made and has a Howard Roberts body and the cool L5 tailpiece with a beautiful inlaid headstock. The fingerboard is high quality solid rosewood and is inlaid with the X Howard Roberts type inlays, it’s a very beautiful guitar in both looks and sound. Seven-ply bound figured maple body front and back and sound hole, five-ply bound pickguard, three-piece flame maple neck, solid rosewood fingerboard. This beauty features a 25.5” scale length, a16” waist, and figured maple laminate body. It has a great sounding humbucking pickup, flat-wound strings. The action and playability are excellent with the 25.5" like Gibson used on the original. Nice quality factory sealed tuning machines. Low action with a nice straight neck with excellent like new frets. The build quality of this rare GOYA is right up there with its USA counterpart. It sounds great, plays great, and is a must for any Howard Roberts fan or vintage guitar collector.This is serial number 01001, the first one made, not many of these were made. This was owned by Bill Dees, see the Vintage Guitar article, he co-wrote many songs with Roy Orbison such as Oh, Pretty Woman. He signed the top of the case when I bought it many years ago. It’s absolutely mint.This is a great example with fine quality wood, they did impressive work. I believe this example was built in Nagoya by the great Terada, that is pretty much the Custom shop builders in Japan, they are responsible for the GB10 George Benson Ibanez line, they made the high-end Ibanez Artists, the Gretch reissues, some other fine models as well as their own Tereda guitars.This guitar has excellent playability and has a beautiful tone with a great sounding humbucking pickup with superb sound quality in a wide range. This guitar is in Mint condition! It’s gorgeous in person, it has been in the original HSC since new. The case is in excellent condition. This is a very high-end Goya electric hollow body they made during this era. The quality of these Japan sourced instruments is renowned making these earlier instruments considerably more collectable. This was built during the time frame when the Japanese builders had some of the best quality woods available to them and were setting out to show the world what they could really do. The quality of these Japan sourced instruments is renowned making these earlier instruments considerably more collectable, they were only made for a couple of years after Levin was bought by Martin and production moved from Sweden.
