'Nag Champa' is a perfect complement for Samhain as it has been used in spiritual practice for hundreds of years to evoke a tranquil and purified environment. Whether you choose to pay homage to loved ones who've passed, carve a pumpkin or two, or simply wish to ground yourself in the season, this scent is sure to aid you. ~*~ Samhain or the Celtic New Year by neo-pagans, and Halloween by most, peaks October 31st-November 1st in the northern hemisphere. This time marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the "darker half" of the year where the Goddess has reached her highest power as the Crone whilst heavily pregnant with the God that will be born at Yule. As the delicate balance from light to darkness tips transitioning into winter where the Holly King's power is at a high take time to reflect on all that was gifted to us throughout the year and honor those who have come before. As the veil lifts allowing for communication with those on the other side, tread carefully and be well-protected with positive intentions as more than your loved ones may make an appearance before the turning of the wheel begins anew. ~*~ Each element of this mix has been carefully selected and thoughtfully combined in darker tones to suit your dark aesthetic home decor while paying homage to Samhain and the cycle of death and rebirth. The chosen colors and botanicals represent the autumnal changes and fruits of the final harvest, whilst the deep shades of purple signify spiritual awakening as we journey towards a deeper understanding of our connection with spirit. The selected scent is meant to prepare you for the lifting of the veil and high energies amidst us during this time of the year as it has been used as a conduit for connecting with the spiritual realm and banishing negative energies. ~*~ To make displaying your potpourri a creative experience, and set the 'mood' of your living space into a witchy goth wonderland, you will receive add-ins that are appropriately themed for this sabbat with a few gothic touches that embody our brand. To pay respect to Samhain and the final harvest we chose the following symbols, a large cauldron-shaped crystal that doubles as an incense cone holder, a death moth, spiders, planchette, acorns, a pumpkin, bats, candy corn, leaves, as well as a dried bouquet of autumn-inspired botanicals adorned with a sweet candy corn treat reminiscent of the playful tradition of 'trick-or-treating' the spooks away. Smokey quartz and black obsidian crystals were chosen as conduits for energy work. When the veil between the worlds is thinnest it's important to protect your energy and space when working with spirit as benevolent and malevolent, energies may make themselves known. Smokey quartz may provide spiritual protection by helping one receive and utilize high-frequency light energy, as well as strengthen communication between the living and other worlds. Whilst black obsidian may ground you, absorb and release negative energies, as well as, protect against psychic attacks. Top notes of black currant, mandarin, & black pepper meet middle notes of orange blossom & precious florals including the champaca flower, lingering with base notes of musk, patchouli, vanilla, & sandalwood. **note: all of our scents are vegan and cruelty-free! This scent is a light amber brown due to the patchouli and sandalwood. ORDERING INFO: Foremost, if you prefer an alternative scent listed below, please DM us after placing your order. Given each batch of potpourri is made-to-order, please allow 3-5 days MAX for your order to ship. We let the potpourri sit in a glass jar so it fully absorbs the scent so by the time you receive your order the scent has matured. What's included: 1) Potpourri sachet weighing 4.5-6oz. or a minimum of 3.75 cups with 5-7 sabbat and witchy goth-themed add-ins crafted into a garland and a selenite blade for cleansing. Included as part of the garland is a dried bouquet comprised of a variety of themed botanicals with additional dried flowers on the side. Additionally, you will receive smoky quartz, clear quartz and black obsidian crystals, as well as a carved cauldron crystal that doubles as a cone incense holder. Right now, we have labradorite and flame stone carved cauldrons. You will receive either or, not both types. The crystals and stones are quite pricey, hence the pricing of the gift set. If you would prefer a more affordable options we can make a custom listing for you that does not include any crystals or stones. *We weigh our potpourri in cups as we feel that is a better way to visualize how much you will receive as some botanicals are very large but weigh little and vice versa. We strike a balance between providing you with your money's worth but without crushing your potpourri. While we make every attempt to provide a product that is nearly as identical to our images as possible, due to supply and demand, some substitutions may be made. Example: a different type of cauldron and/or pumpkin crystal & differences in the arrangement and type of dried flowers used in the bouquet. ~~~*~~~Alternative Scents We Offer~~~*~~~ We use inspired-by scents and are not affiliated with any fragrance, body care or home goods designers, all trademarks are property of their respective owners. Any reference to the brand names are made strictly for scent character comparison and not to be confused with the originals despite how similar they are in a side-by-side comparison. 1. Goth Lord of Anarchy type scent - black pepper, warm vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, & more. This is very close to the OG, but perhaps a bit milder in patchouli or black pepper. 2. Witchy Snow Fae type scent - fresh berries, sweet vanilla bean, & soft musk with a bit of mint. More simply put if pink bubblegum & candy floss had a baby. Very close to the OG. 3. Egyptian Dragon - a warm blend of myrrh & patchouli, subtle floral notes of rose & jasmine with a base note of woodsy musk.4. Dragon's Blood - a tree resin mixture comprised of subtle fresh orange & fruity grape notes, sensual clove, & rose with a woody patchouli base. 5. Sugary Cinnamon Pumpkin type scent - a sweeter alternative to your traditional pumpkin spice or autumn harvest scent. It has a lovely cinnamon and vanilla based with delicious buttery sweet pumpkin. Very similar to the OG.6. Mystical Moonlight Trail type scent - floral notes of rose, jasmine, violet, tuberose, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley, lilac and lavender, with bergamot, mandarin leaf, and coriander. Base notes are sandalwood, vetiver, oakmoss, vanilla, patchouli, amber, and musk for an earthy compliment. 7. Breath of Goddess type scent - This highly complex unisex scent contains neroli, sandalwood, Virginia cedar, Amalfi lemon, melony citrus, rose, ylang-ylang, vetiver, grapefruit, black pepper and so much more. Very similar to the OG.8. Wicked Spiced Green Apple - autumn spices comprised of ground cloves, cinnamon sticks, sun-kissed oranges and warm vanilla cream coupling with tart green apple, and floral notes of violet, jasmine and rose. ~*~ Potpourri Care Instructions ~*~ To ensure a long-lasting scent, store the potpourri in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. To use simply place your sabbat potpourri mix in a decorative vessel atop your mantel or altar, or wherever people tend to congregate in your home to serve as a unique decorative and conversation piece. Add your personal touch by arranging the themed add-ins and/or incorporating items of your own. You may notice powder as you do this--this is orris root, a natural fixative that 'grabs' onto the lovely scent so your potpourri has a long fragrant shelf life. Please note that some add-ins/decorative pieces/charms may have sterling silver components and will require occasional polishing as sterling silver naturally oxidizes. Use a soft cloth similar to a cheesecloth that has some texture but is still super soft and gently rub the surface. ~*~*~*~ ~*~ Much to do about potpourri: Why Cure? ~*~ We strike a balance between traditional curing which can take several weeks vs. working with porous botanicals that rapidly absorb the oils holding onto them longer. Essentially, potpourri is a combination of solids with various porosities. Some botanicals retain essential and/or fragrance oils very well. Some do not. So, to prevent these volatile oils from evaporating into the air, we need to add a fixative. A fixative is anything that has the capacity aka surface area and porosity, to absorb the oils and retain them. By letting the botanicals sit with the fixative, one can achieve a much stronger and longer-lasting scent. So, when we ship your order, it's had several days to sit and marinate before you display it. So, you have a product that has fully absorbed the scent! We only use natural botanicals & root powders as a fixative. This is why there is a tiny amount of fine dust/powder that can settle at the bottom. Do not dump it. It's holding onto your yummy scent! Patience is key, and we're doing the work of the patience for ye! ~*~*~*~*~ We have some sensitivities, and maybe you do too!
